July 3, 2015

Bob: Going to stop in and talk to my bank tomorrow. Made a deposit on June 17th. They told me it takes 3 weeks for the money to be available as it is a US check. Checked with my WV credit union today and they told me the check cleared on June 19th. Wonder what's going on for the next 19 days?
Quiet day at work today as the phones and the internet went down about 11:15. Was able to take care of a few things without them, but most stuff came to a standstill. We had a visitor from Spanish Fork today. It was Elder Anderson, who was released in February. He and his family stopped in for a couple of hours. He had never seen our office as the mission office switched locations in March. The Zone Leaders from Brampton showed up while they were here. One of them knew Elder Anderson pretty well.
Time for bed.
Love to all,
Dad/Bob

Bonnie: Elder  Anderson said something I found interesting today. He served in 2013 and knew the first missionary ever to learn Farsi, which is the Persian language. He was gratified to see all of the materials we now have in Farsi. The Gospel is truly going forth to every nation, kindred, tongue and people! The following are some of the languages people speak in the Toronto area: Cambodian, Czechoslovakian, Creole or Haitian, Arabic, Swahili, Serbian, Traditional Chinese, Simplified Chinese, Hungarian, Korean, Romanian, Finnish, Thai, Vietnamese, German, Tagalog, Turkish, Tamil, Urdu, Japanese, Hindi, Italian, and Russian. Then, of course, we have lots of materials in Spanish, Portuguese and French. I'm sure there are others I have missed.
As Bob said, it was a quiet day. Then, tonight we went shopping, which is always an ordeal, it seems. We got home about ten, and are still up, doing fun things like facebook and catching up on our emails. Tomorrow we will be having two sets of sister missionaries over for dinner and to celebrate the 4th of July. Prior to that we will be in the temple learning how to help new converts with their first temple visits to do baptisms for their ancestors who have passed on. We have the privilege of being trained by the Mission President and his wife. It will be very special, I am sure!
Love, Mom/Bonnie
