July 19 and 20, 2016

19th:

Bob: Been a nice day. Went for a short walk with the First Mate this morning. Temperature was in the high 50s, but it was quite pleasant as the sun was shining. We got ready and ran some errands. Stopped at the library and volunteered, but they don't need anyone until September. Offered to work at the New Liskeard Salvation Army food bank, but they said 'our doctrine' was so much different than theirs that they shouldn't use us!! Talked to the Haileybury food bank and they said they didn't need anyone either right now. Picked up the missionaries because they were walking from the hospital as we were driving to it. Their car is in the shop until tomorrow having some body work done. They had been to the hospital and left their names as potential volunteers. They were told the lady in charge of volunteers wasn't in today. Thus we didn't bother offering our help. Will do that later this week.
Visited with Sister Craig in the hospital. She wasn't feeling too well as the decision has been made that she be moved to a nursing home.

20th:

Bob: Our keyboard quit last night as I was finishing up the last sentence above. Sorry we didn't get anything posted.
This afternoon we went to Elk Lake. Bonnie went with Sister Jakob to take their foster children to visit their parents. I went with Karl. The results of his and my labors are below. When we got ready to come home they took Bonnie to the garden and picked her the fresh vegetables you see.
We went to Cobalt yesterday to look for 3 less actives. Only talked to one of them however. Managed to figure out where one lived, but he wasn't home. He sells firewood. Next time we go I'll take a picture of his inventory. Very interesting. The other young mother wasn't at home.
Scheduled to have the motor block heater put on the car tomorrow. Will let you know how that goes.
Well I'm going to close for now. Love to all and good night brothers.

Bonnie: It has been a good day with the Jakob's. They fed us like royalty and, as you see below, gave us enough food for tomorrow night and then some. They have a wonderful garden like many people do up here. It saves on the grocery bills, for sure.
I really hope we can find a place that will let us serve. It may be that we will visit the nursing homes and just talk to people there. I know from our friend Brad that the hospital needs help serving lunches to the patients. Maybe we can serve that way.
Tomorrow I will be cleaning the apartment and shopping and maybe washing clothes. We  hope also to visit with the Relief Society President and hopefully one or two others.
May everyone have a great day tomorrow!
Love, Mom/Bonnie

PS: That "other fisherman" in the picture is a bear Bob and Karl saw today!!
