July 14, 2015

Bonnie: Today we went to the church and cleaned some of it--the washrooms, and the front foyer, plus the chalk trays and vacuuming the YW, Primary and Priesthood rooms downstairs. We left a note for those who were to come after us who were going to finish up. Then, we had a very pleasant visit with an elderly sister who will be 95 on Saturday. I gave her some of the cookies I made yesterday. She is so sweet! Then we had to hurry to get some things for dinner tonight. Jack and Trudy came
over about 6. Our meal was not quite ready. But, it is so fun to talk to them. Jack really has some stories to tell! And it was so sweet because Trudy said it was a custom in their family to bring a tea towel to the cook when you are asked out to eat somewhere. She presented me with one, of course. So very sweet. We ended the evening with a three of rounds of  Mexican Train. Fun! We also had a call from one of our senior couple friends in  Brampton tonight. A very pleasant surprise.
Well, I've done my french for the evening and am very ready for bed. We will have a full day tomorrow.
Love, Mom/Bonnie

Bob: Not much to report that Bonnie hasn't already shared.
We did go for a walk this morning. There was almost a traffic jam at the intersection of Lakeview Blvd and Ferguson Avenue. About 6 cars and us on foot arrived at the 3 way stop intersection at the same time, but we all made it through safely. It was touch and go for a second!!
Another interesting thing I have noticed. The price of gas was 1.049 a liter when we arrived last Tuesday. It has not changed once. You can't say that ever happened in Brampton. It changes there during the day almost everyday. Nice to know things are not crazy everywhere.
Went to the bank the other day to deposit a person check for $750. The teller said there would probably be a hold on the funds. Checked my account the next day and all funds were available. That didn't happen in Brampton either. Bless the north!!
Time to go to bed. Need to finish my french lesson. I'm having a harder time than Bonnie. I can't understand most things they are saying. Sounds to me like they are talking with something in their mouth and the words don't sound anything like they are spelled.
Anyway, love to all and good night brothers.
Dad/Bob
