November 8, 2015

Bob: Good morning to everyone. I forgot to add this last night. Magnolia beat Linsly 34 - 14 yesterday to finish 10 - 0 and ranked number 1 in WV Class A. They open the playoffs next weekend at home against Valley (7 - 3) if Valley doesn't move up in the rankings. Valley beat Paden City (2 - 8) on Friday night.
Bonnie pretty well summed up the last couple of days. The weekend has been hectic and tomorrow night's FHE may be a challenge, but then we can relax some. I usually love the weekends because we don't see daylight till about 8:00!!! Next weekend I think our good friend from North Cobalt, Brad Suave, will be coming down to stay with us. We're looking forward to that.
Weather is on the cool side but still pretty nice. So thankful for that. Hope everyone enjoyed their weekend. Love to all and good night brother.

Bonnie:  The last two days have been full. I'm quite relaxed right now on this Sunday night and it feels very good. The pulled pork turned out very well, except there could have been a bit more pork. The second pork roast we bought was under 4 pounds, and it wasn't quite enough. But, it tasted good, anyway. I'm so glad we hosted the going-away party for Barrett's. It was wonderful to sit around and talk and share stories and experiences. I'm going to miss the Barrett's very much. They are a wonderful example of a couple who love the Lord and serve others 24/7.
The baptisms went well earlier in the day yesterday. We had 14 women and 10 or 12 men there to do them. They were confirmed "font-side" after they did 5 to 6 baptisms. We got started a bit late--around 3:00 and finished up about 5:15. I enjoyed talking to them as they came into the waiting room. It's a long process to be sure all their family names are ready and then to get their clothing and change. And, each time we have had the temple President come in to talk to them before we start. That's always good. As Bob mentioned when we got home, the Laqua's were waiting for us, sitting on the steps outside our door. They had been to a meeting for RS Presidents and Bishops concerning the Bishop's Storehouse, which they run. They would have been late if they had gone home and tried to get back to our place on time.
Today Brother and Sister Barrett spoke in church. They gave awesome talks. Then, during Much and Mingle they were given a picture of the Toronto Temple. It was very sweet. This morning I made brownies for tomorrow's FHE and the casserole for today's food. It all worked out well because we only had one YSA to pick up. We actually arrived at least 10 minutes early! Then, the way home was quite a bit longer than usual because we gave another YSA a ride, and after we were done dropping them off we went to the Office. One of our fine Elders is going home tomorrow, unexpectedly. That means that Bob had to get his passport and make a CD of the letters he has written to the President and give it to him. We finally got home about 6:15 or so.
Tomorrow it should be a slower day, though every time I think that way I get lots of random calls about different thing and unexpected issues come up. I guess that's what makes what we do here interesting!
My love to everyone, and I hope you all have a great week!
Love, Mom/Bonnie
