August 5, 2015

Bob: Long day at the mill. Missionaries didn't leave till about 6:30 and then I went to the storage shed to help a couple individuals pick up some items. One family had scheduled a wooden table that they 'needed' because theirs was glass and they were afraid their handicapped child was going to get hurt on it. But the wooden table we had wasn't nice enough so they decided not to take it. My comment was 'I thought you needed a wooden table!" I guess not.
Scheduled a truck from U-Haul to bring the furniture back from Brockville where the Senior missionaries who left. Will have lots of furniture to pick up. Everything sounded real good, but when I called back they couldn't confirm anything they said till Monday. So I think that isn't going to work out. Going to make alternative plans tomorrow because that apartment has been sold and we have to be out by the 13th. I can't wait till Monday to make alternative plans.
Hope everyone has had a great day and that your weather is as good as ours. We actually have the a/c turned off. Bonnie is very happy about that. Told her I would leave it off tonight, but if she throws the comforter on me during the night the a/c will be back on tomorrow night.
Love,
Dad/Bob

Bonnie: What a delight to visit with all of the missionaries who were involved with MLC today. The best part of it was this morning when we could hear the missionaries singing with enthusiasm, "High On A Mountaintop, a banner is unfurled! Ye nations now look up, it waves to all the world." I feel like here in Toronto we are sharing the banner of the gospel of Jesus Christ to all the world! These righteous young adults are such wonderful ambassadors of the Savior. It's a privilege to work with them. Everything went fairly well, except that the new ink for the printer didn't get there until about 2:30. Many of the ESL fliers are not as colorful as usual. Oh, well. Then the order for the ESL business cards didn't come. That means that when they do come, we have to get them out to the different zones somehow. I told this to the APs and they think that it won't be too much of a problem. We'll see. What messed me up on these orders is the national holiday two days ago.
The waffles were a success, as was the treat plate. They do eat well on MLC day, They have a light breakfast and subway sandwiches, chips and cookies for lunch. They seem to enjoy the waffle dinners, especially with the whipped cream and berries and Nutella, of course, (along with the normal stuff like butter and syrup.)
Tomorrow will be catch-up day--hopefully slower-paced. Bob and I need to get ready for our trip up north to the Temiskaming Branch picnic on Saturday. If we leave Friday at noon as planned, that means we have to do the wash and shopping tomorrow night.  Oh what a busy life we are leading but I love it. There is always something interesting going on and it's fun to be a part of it.
May all of you have things you enjoy, too.
Love,
Mom/Bonnie
