November 29, 2016

Bonnie:  Our indexing class was quite a success. We had 8 plus Bob and I. It took a little bit of time to get everyone started, but once we got going we did well. The earlier part of the day was spent on doing RS things and making pumpkin squares for tonight. We also were invited to dinner by Trudy and Jack. She served delicious chili and a broccoli/cauliflower/cheese salad that was really good. For dessert she served raisin pie, something I have never eaten. It was very good, too. Jack allowed the new missionaries who were there, (one from our Branch, Elder Holden, and one from Val D'Or, Elder Perry) to give a thought. Jack is very set in his thinking about religion, so this was a very nice thing to do. He usually does not want a thought from the missionaries. Elder Holden did a good job.
Well, it's late, so I will let Elder Martin finish with his thoughts.
Sweet dreams, everyone!
Love, Mom/Bonnie

Bob: I agree with everything Bonnie has written. Nothing else to add to our activities for the day.
We did receive word that the Toronto Temple President, Gordon Macmichael, died yesterday. It was thought he had had a stroke a month or two ago. Turned out it was something else that had to do with his back and paralyzed him from the waist down. We thought he was getting better and going to be headed back to continue his calling as Temple President. He was a kind and considerate man.
Weather has warmed up and a lot of the ice and snow is melting. I hope this continues for a couple more days at least.
Time for bed. Love to all and good night brothers.
Dad/Bob
