November 21, 2016

Bob: The weather has certainly changed. We have about 6 inches of snow on the ground and have had flurries all day. The wind chill is near 5 degrees. No snow forecast till Friday, but the temperature will be too cold to melt anything. The roads have been cleared, but there is a solid sheet of ice on most of the roads. Must drive with caution and try not to do anything quickly.
We did get to the Nursing Home and visited with Donna Craig for quite a while. She is still feeling unhappy about her situation. She took us into the Common Room to show us the Christmas tree before we left. She recognized an old friend and tried her best to get the lady to remember her. However, the lady never said anything. Donna kept speaking her name and talking about when they worked together about 55 years ago. Bonnie was talking to some other ladies in the room while this was going on. Donna finally went to dinner and we started to leave. However, Denis, a man in the Common Room kept talking so long that he was late for dinner. We told him we  would stop and see him again when we came back.
I finally decided I had better purchase a pair of boots. Found a pair at the Salvation Army for $5.00. I hope they'll work!! We also bought our Christmas tree there for $3.
Hope you day has been wonderful. Love to all and good night brothers.

Bonnie:  Bob has summarized our day very well. I like our little Christmas tree. It just needs something for the top which we will get when we take the Cushman's Christmas shopping on Wednesday. I have a garland that I kept from last Christmas in Brampton, which will do for ornaments and lights. I will also get some kind of electric candle for our windows and that will be the extent of our decorations. Oh yes, and I have a wreath for our door.
I spent some time working on RS stuff today. Our new President is a go-getter. She is constantly coming up with ideas to enrich our Relief Society. It's really good for our little Branch.
Happy Thanksgiving week, everyone. Let's remember all of our blessings as we celebrate on Thursday. I count all of our readers as blessings to me.
Love, Mom/Bonnie
