November 28, 2016

Bob: Started the day with an 1800 meter swim. My longest swim yet. Didn't feel too tired at the end. It is hard to do the first few laps though. Must be psychological.
The first thing we did this morning was visit Sister Benn. She works at a consignment shop. The owner, Nickie, started the business on January 16th this year. However she has taken very ill. Sister Benn has been working for her since the store opened and she will become the owner as of December 1st. I'm not sure how long she will be able to carry on with it as she is elderly and gets quite tired. We packed up about 7 boxes of glassware today that is being donated to the Diabetes Association.
After we finished we visited Sister Huywan who lives in the Extendicare Nursing Home. She is the oldest member of the Branch at 95. Her memory isn't real good but she is very alert and loves to sit and talk with others.
Then we visited Donna Craig in the Lodge Nursing Home. She has a very bad left knee and can barely get around. She also has to use oxygen occasionally. We had a good visit with her and even watched a Christmas movie with her.
We had to get home then so Bonnie could fix dinner for the Elders. She planned on baking a dessert, but getting home a little past five did not give her enough time. So we took some frozen raspberries and put them on vanilla ice cream for dessert.
It's now past 10 and we need to get ready for bed. Hope your day has been wonderful. Love to everyone and good night brothers.

Bonnie:  I don't have much to add. It was fun going into the shop with Sister Benn. She sells all kinds of things, of course. I bought a glass pie plate which I will need for next Saturday and a strand of little gold bells for our Salvation Army Christmas tree. It looks good, if I do say so myself. And it only cost a total of $5.00
Tomorrow will be spent getting ready for Activity Night. Both of us need to do some more indexing in preparation for it. And I need to make some treats as well.
Tomorrow, before the activity, we have been invited to dinner by Brad's parents, Trudy and Jack. It's also Kayla's birthday, (Brad's daughter,) so I'm sure it will be a wonderful affair. She has just received her mission call to the North Carolina, Charlotte Mission. She is a terrific Young Adult.
May your evening and day tomorrow be bright and beautiful.
Love, Mom/Bonnie
