October 3, 2016

Bob: I went swimming this morning while Bonnie did her usual morning activities. In the afternoon she got the apartment ready for our dinner guests. We had 5 Elders, Tom Cambridge, Brad and Kayla Sauve, and Donna Craig over. Brad brought a kettle of corn chowder and Tom brought a bunch of fried chicken. Donna can barely walk so she had a hard time getting to our apartment. There is an elevator, but she is afraid of them!! We brought her through the Temiskaming Home Support offices with Norm's help. He is the assistant to the onsite manager. He didn't know if we should do it, but we didn't have a choice. Donna cannot go up or down stairs. Once we started in with her she almost panicked because we had to go through some hallways that did not have any windows. We finally got her to the apartment and with the windows she was able to relax. She took some nerve medicine before leaving and it seemed to help. She didn't have any problems leaving.
That's about it for the day, although President Jakob called and asked us to speak this coming Sunday. Made our day!!
Time to retire. Love to all and good night brothers.

Bonnie:  Talk about being panicked, we had 11 for dinner and I have barely enough plates, glasses and flatware for 8! It all worked out OK because I had some paper products and we washed spoons before we ate dessert. It was nice because Kayla and one of the Elders washed many of the dishes. That really helped.  And the extra food was great, too. I'm glad we did it.
The other important thing we did, was to go through each name on the Branch roster and talk about what we need to do next to further the missionary work. We have much to do. With the Lord's help we can do it, that I know.
We hope all of you have a good evening and an even better day tomorrow than you had today!
Love, Mom/Bonnie
