October 24, 2016

Bonnie:  It's been a long, but good day. We stayed at Jakob's house last night, hence no blog report. We needed to help get the three foster children of the Jakob's off to school this morning and then be there when the bus let them off at 3:30. So, we did a lot of reading and watched two Murdock Mysteries, and went for a 20 minute walk with Daisy, their dog. It would have been a longer walk, except that the weather was very cold. I provided dinner and also did some wash. President Jakob thought he would be back by 3:30, but he didn't get home until about 7:00! I was trying to have a short FHE, but one of the little girls was absolutely hyper so we didn't get very far.
Yesterday was a great Sabbath. The talk in Sacrament Meeting was superb. There were three less-active members there, too, as well as our friends, the Cannon's. After church there was a RS meeting with Sister Newton, the Stake RS President. It was quite informative. I'm so glad we had it. Then, I prepared dinner for the Cannon's and the Elders. As soon as they left, we headed up to Elk Lake to the Jakob's.
I hope it's warmer tomorrow, or at least not as windy. And I hope the sun is out!!
Love, Mom/Bonnie

Bob: It was quite cold today in Elk Lake. Some snow flurries did come down, but there wasn't any accumulation. We were at Jakob's for just short of 24 hours. They heat primarily with wood and keep the house very warm. When we got home our place felt like it was cold even thought the thermostat is set on 75!
Will have to go for a long walk tomorrow as I didn't swim or walk long today. Also, we have to take Sister Margetson to the chapel tomorrow at 11:00 so she can open the Family History Unit up for some investigators. Then we have to get ready for Activity Night. Wednesday night is the end of the month pot luck for the apartment complex. Got a couple busy days coming up.
Better get to bed. Love to all and good night brothers.
Dad/Bob
