October 2, 2016

Bonnie and Bob: We've had a long, though wonderful, Sabbath. We left this morning about 6:45, made a stop at the church to pick up all of the French songbooks (which someone else had already taken) and arrived at Val D'Or about 9:30. There were quite a few people there, including several from our Temiskaming Branch. The new Branch Presidency was called and set apart, then there was a testimony meeting and then we watched the first session of Conference. The French Saints watched Conference in another room so they could hear it in their language. Before our Pot Luck dinner the new Relief Society President and Primary President were also called and set apart. We had a delicious dinner and then many of the Branch had to return home. Bob and I and the missionaries and maybe three others stayed for the second session of Conference. We left about 6:15 and were home by about 9:00. What is interesting is that one of the missionaries has been called to be the second counselor in the Branch Presidency.  I'm sure he will do an excellent job. This was a very special day for this newly formed Abitibe Branch in Quebec.
We so enjoyed Conference! I can't wait to read the talks again. I am so thankful for a prophet and the other 14 Apostles.
Let's have a wonderful week, everyone!
Love, Mom/Bonnie,

Bonnie has said it all. Love to all and good night brothers.
