Bob: The First Mate is in bed already. It is 12:50 right now. Thought I would tell you a little about our day. We have 10 missionaries left in the mission that won't be getting anything from home for Christmas. So Sisters Martin, Erickson and Cannon put together a plan that would provide each of the missionaries with a small gift and $10 cash. When Bonnie told me this I thought we ought to be able to do a little better. After talking to the right people today we got another $300 to divide between the 10. At least they'll have a little more money to get something that might have been wanting.
Went to the YSA Christmas party tonight. It was a huge success. The program was short, but inspiring. The meal included ham, turkey, mashed potatoes, rice, Caesar salad, bean salad, vegetables and lots of desserts with ice cream provided later. After the meal there was a gift exchange. Those with a gift divided into 2 circles with their gift in front of them. One person was put in the center of the circle with their gift. Each person was assigned the name of a fruit either apple, banana or something else. The person in the middle would shout one of the fruits and those with that tag were to move to another present. The person in the center could move to a place in the circle too. This always left one person in the center. After so long the game ended and the gift in front of you was the one you got.
Next was dancing and socialising. The dance lasted till 10:30 and then the big clean up began. We finally left to take Sean home and got home ourselves around 11:30.
Hope everyone had a great day. I understand that BYU football fans aren't really happy right now, but they dug themselves too big a hole to start the game. However, they had the Utes sweating it out at the end. As Adolph Rupp once said, "I never lost a game; I just ran out of time!"
Hope everyone has had a great day. Love to all and good night brothers.
