Bob: What a glorious day it has been. Got to watch both sessions of conference. Heard from the 3 new apostles and each one did fine. There were some great messages. We just need to keep on trying, and everything will work out. The sad note of the day was how weak President Monson appears to be. His talk was a little over 13 minutes long and be was barely able to finish it. He appeared almost ready to collapse. I hope he is doing okay.
Weather was a little warmer today. Looking at the forecast for this weekend in Elk Lake I see 49 Friday and 53 Saturday. It may be a little cold on the lake. Sunday however is a different story. High is supposed to be 41 with snow showers in the morning. Looks like we need to take some warm clothes with us.
Bonnie and I walked about half way around the block before we ate this evening. (Had to work up an appetite as Sister Erikson had all kinds of snacks and goodies while we watched conference with them.) Bonnie fixed some corn chowder. It was very tasty especially with the Red Lobster biscuits.
Not much else going on today. Hope everyone's Sabbath was a day of rest. Good night to all and good night brother.
Love
Dad/Bob
Bonnie: It has been a wonderful day. There were some excellent talks. I think there will be a new word added to our "Mormon" vocabulary: ponderizing! I, like Bob, wonder about President Monson. He looked so frail at the end of his talk. We may be in for some more changes, although I hope not, at least for awhile. One of the best thoughts that came to me loud and clear is the idea of "intentional" parenting. I think that's an excellent, very needed way to teach children and young people in today's wicked world.
I just finished talking to 4 sets of missionaries about their work with the inactive YSAs. It's frustrating that there are so many that are not home when the missionaries stop by. We need to continue to pray for them, that's for sure.
It's already late so I will sign off. May everyone have a glorious week!
Love,
Mom/Bonnie
