October 25, 2015

Bob: It's bed time so I have to write quickly and briefly. When we got up the plans were to pick up 2 YSA in Brampton then go to Mississauga and pick up a third. That meant we would be leaving about 10:30. Well the young lady in Mississauga got another ride so we didn't have to get her. Left a little past 11:10, later than we wanted, and picked up another young lady. Went to get a young man, but he wasn't there. As Bonnie set down in church the counselor stood up to start the service. So we just made it because they always end up starting 2 to 5 minutes late.
Church went well and the 3 speakers were good. The young man that spoke is getting married and so this was his final week in the YSA Ward. Moving on to a family Ward now.
When we got home we decided to make a batch of potato soup. Last summer we made it in Elk Lake, but couldn't find the 1 pound block of Velveeta cheese. Had to cut up the wrapped individual slices to it. We had all the right ingredients today though. Decided to add a new item to the soup-crumbled bacon. Sampled it tonight and my feeling is the bacon is not worth the bother. We'll see if heating the soup up has any effect on that decision.
Hope everyone had a great weekend. Good night brother.
Love,
Dad/Bob

Bonnie: The potato soup is better with the bacon and would be even better if  Bob had let me add the bacon grease along with the cooked bacon! In fact, I'd like to add a bit of it next time we heat up the soup. We'll see.
All of the  Bishop's visits went well today. There was just one person he wanted to see that did not return my call/text this week. But, there are always YSAs who want a last minute visit with him, so his schedule is always full. We have committed to pick up a service missionary, Belinda, who works in the garment distribution center part-time. She lives in Brampton so it is not too far out of our way. We'll take her to church on Sunday and also to the FHE on Monday nights. I think she is happy that we are doing it.
We went to Laura's tonight for some rice pudding dessert. It was good, but especially so because she puts real maple syrup on it. I'm not talking about the maple-flavored stuff commonly on the store shelves. I'm talking about heavenly, 100% pure Canadian Maple Syrup. It's delicious! I will be bringing some home for sure.
I think I am prepared for the office tomorrow. I have our dinner ready to take so that after we eat at the office, we can go straight to Belinda's house and then to FHE. And so begins another week of our adventure in the Canada Toronto Mission. We love you all!
Love,
Mom/Bonnie
