Bonnie: We
had a great meeting with Elder Ballard. He spoke out strongly about teaching
true doctrine and that it's the duty of parents and grand-parents to be sure
that that's what our children are learning. He warned us not to be deceived.
And we are to be watchful about prideful wealth, our entertainment and
recreation, and not keeping the Sabbath Day holy. He said there are too many
false prophets among us! He encouraged us to have a personal interview with
ourselves, without any electronics near, and ponder what we need to do or not
to do. He said to try and have contact with heaven!
Afterwards we had
a Ward Council. I thought it went well, with quite open discussion. Our first
"Activity Night" will be this Wednesday at the Common Room in our
apartment building. Bob and I are in charge of it. I hope we have some
less-actives show up, and maybe an investigator or two.
I hope you all
have had a happy Sabbath!
Love, Mom/Bonnie
Bob: It was a great meeting with Elder
Ballard. Bonnie has listed the highlights. He also said we need to continue
healthy habits and make spiritual adjustments as necessary. Another comment he
made was transgression and not living the gospel makes it difficult to hear
promptings of the Spirit. The Lord will micro-manage our lives if we stay close
to him and listen for His promptings.
Went back to
church at 7 and worked with Brother Cambridge on record changes Bonnie and I
have found so far. Hopefully I didn't forget anyone.
Time for bed. Love
to all and good night brothers.
