November 1, 2015

Bonnie:  It's been a beautiful Sabbath. I love the Mormon Channel! We play it every Sunday and it's soothing to my soul. It was interesting today because soon after we started Sacrament Meeting the power went out. They opened the curtains and the doors so it helped some. After the meeting going to the washroom was not fun, however. It was totally dark. I had to literally feel my way around. Thankfully, the power came back on during Sunday School. I had nine appointments scheduled for the Bishop today. Three didn't show up, but there were lots of YSAs wanting to see the Bishop so he was busy.
We picked up three young women going to church and took one young woman and one young man home. It was nice because they live close by each other. This young woman is on a service mission and is from Belleville, Ontario. She serves in the garment Distribution Center and also helps with the temple laundry. It's a great mission for her.
Well, I have a very busy week ahead with MLC and a going-away party for Barrett's on Saturday, and spending all of Saturday afternoon in the temple helping with the  new convert baptisms. Sunday morning I will be making a casserole for the YSAs that day, and Monday I'm in charge of refreshments for FHE. It's the final Family Home Evening for the Barrett's and one of our sharp on-the-ball young men is in charge of it. He says it's a surprise when we asked him what he has planned. I can't wait to see what he comes up with!
I will let Bob finish with his thoughts for today. May we be prepared for what tomorrow brings as we all begin a new week!
Love,
Mom/Bonnie

Bob: Today started off great with the clocks being set back an hour. I woke up about 7 anyway. But that was equal to 8 yesterday so it wasn't bad. After I got up my phone alarm went off later and woke up the First Mate. She didn't mutiny, but I detected some grumbling about an inconsiderate Captain. I guess I need to be more careful. Don't know why it went off as the only alarm I see is set for 5:45 am and it was set on off.
Testimony Meeting was really good. A couple got up for their very first time. They were very humble and emotional. You could tell they were speaking from their hearts. In fact, all of the YSA testimonies come from their hearts. They always have something faith promoting to say. They don't get into travel logs, etc.
We picked up 2 young ladies in Mississauga for church today, but they had another way home. So we took another young man, Ander, home. That was good because he just lived around the corner from Belinda, who we took both ways. I don't think I drove the shortest or quickest way from Belinda's to Mississauga. Oh well, I'm still trying to figure out the streets. It is not coming quickly.
Well I had better quit rambling and close. Love to all and good night brother.
Bob/Dad
