August 21, 2015

Bonnie: It's been another long day. It's 10:45 pm and I still have to go downstairs to the laundry area and get our dry clothes about 11:15. And then it's bedtime for me!!
We had a wonderful trip to St. Joseph's Island. It's the second largest fresh-water island in North America. We stayed at a lovely Bed and Breakfast that is right out of "Olde" England. I think Bob took a picture of it. We had a few mishaps but all in all the trip was worth it. Lake Huron is huge, and yet it is supposed to be the smallest of the great lakes. The island is typical of northern Ontario, with lots of trees and huge green pastureland areas. And the lake shore is never very far away. One thing the island is known for is a type of rock called a "pudding" stone, named such because when the first European people came it reminded them of a special kind of pudding. We ate dinner at a very nice Italian restaurant right on the shore. Because we didn't have reservations we had to wait about 15 minutes. It's a popular place and the food is delicious.
Today we spent catching up at the office. We have a busy busy schedule the next 4 or 5 days. And  then the Temple is opening up. I can't wait to go back for an endowment session. I like being in the baptistry helping the new converts with their baptisms, but I also need to attend an endowment session once in a while just for myself.
I hope everyone is doing well, and feeling the love of our Heavenly Father and His Son Jesus Christ, and our love, too!
Love, Mom/Bonnie

Bob: Yes it was a long day. We didn't leave the office till after 8:00. Got things pretty well caught up though. We have the senior couples retreat Monday evening and Tuesday morning and afternoon. Sometime before Wednesday afternoon we have to get everything ready for MLC which begins Wednesday morning at 7:00. It seems as though this merry-go-round just keeps picking up speed!
Its closer to midnight than eleven so I am hitting the sack. Hope everyone has a great weekend.
Love,
Dad/Bob
